Suffolk Artist and Graphic Designer

Krysten Newby

A freelance artist, illustrator, graphic designer and ethical taxidermist based out of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, who has a keen interest in wildlife.

Hello there, my name is Krysten Newby – a versatile UK freelance artist, illustrator and graphic designer, residing in Bury St Edmunds, located in the rural county of Suffolk.

I have been doodling and creating for as long as I can remember – I’m a self confessed O.C.D sufferer (Obsessive Creative Disorder). Growing up in rural Suffolk, I’ve always been so inspired by my surroundings consisting of wildlife and miles of gorgeous countryside.

Birds and British wildlife in particular are my number one source of inspiration, you’ll see it a lot in my work.

In 2014, I graduated from University Campus Suffolk with a Bachelor’s  first class degree in Graphic Communication. Since then, I worked for a few months at a local design studio, then went off on my own to do part time freelance work, which I’m pursuing today.

I guess you’re wondering what I get up to when I’m not designing, eh?

Well,  going back to my admiration for wildlife again, another passion and hobby of mine is taxidermy.

I’m an ethical taxidermist (Since 2013) and for my final project at Uni I combined my design skills with my taxidermy skills and I now manage and own a brand by the name of Taxidermy Co. UK. Visit the website at www.taxidermyco.uk

I also suffer from multiple chronic illnesses including Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia which makes daily living very painful and a great struggle.

My artwork and taxidermy are definitely my form of therapy and it allows me to work at my own pace when I am able to from my home.

Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working with some amazing clients working on a huge variety of projects including custom logos, full branding, packaging, tattoo design, posters, magazine illustrations, apparel & band merchandise, to name a few.
