I actually started this painting before the Covid-19 crisis started.

I wanted to portray how we’ve turned our natural world upside-down and our wildlife is suffering as a result.

Now this painting has a different meaning. Now our world as we know it is upside-down and many are turning to nature and wildlife for escapism and solace.

This has always been the case for me as nature has always been my solace on dark days. But now I think many more will see and appreciate our wildlife during these strange times, and hopefully look after it a little more once all of this is over.
